Been a while since my last post! Apologies to my legions of dedicated readers. Anyone? Anyone? OK, let's move on.
2012 is wrapping up with some pretty huge and exciting things. First off, Nelo will be opening for the Neon Trees tomorrow at ACL Live (Moody Theater), and this is probably the most exciting opening slot I've had since I joined the band. I've liked everything I've heard from the Neon Trees, and they've toured with my current favorite American rock band, the Killers, extensively. I'm a sucker for post-punk synth-rock with attitude, and that's the Neon Trees.
Also, Progress has a ton of good news. Our album is two-thirds mixed by Matt Meli at Yellow Dog Studios, who is doing an absolutely phenomenal job. I knew he'd do good work, but he has exceeded expectation in every respect, and the record is sounding so good it brings tears to my eyes. Also, One2One Bar has been gracious enough to give Progress and Dahebegebees a weekly residency for the month of December. We'll be playing every Thursday night, with Progress going on at 9pm and Dahebegebees at 11. It's gonna give us the chance to let some new music evolve, and I can't wait to see what the guys come up with.
I'm going to have a solid two weeks home with my family starting on Christmas day, and I'm extremely excited about that since it hasn't happened in a long time. My family is absolutely the best. I know a lot of people say that, but, well, I say it too. So if I don't see you before then, I'll see you in January, because we're gonna put a record out and celebrate in style with the Funky Knuckles. Aw yeah.
